Chronic Total Occlusion of the Coronary Artery
Patient Testimonial - Chronic Total Occlusion of the Coronary Artery | Dr Yasir Parviz- Emirates Hospital Jumeirah

This gentleman, very high profile from Libya, travelled to the UAE. He had chest pain discomfort and medical history of hypertension, hyperlipidemia and smoking. He was seen and assessed by a physician and had an angiography done. The angiography revealed a total occlusion of left anterior descending artery. A different operator attempted to unblock his artery, but unfortunately the procedure was unsuccessful.
The patient came and was seen & assessed by Dr Yasir Parviz, Consultant Interventional Cardiologist at Emirates Hospitals Group. He was diagnosed with a total chronic occlusion of left anterior descending artery. This is an artery that is challenging and difficult to treat. Dr Yasir with his team meticulously planned the procedure and explained all the risks and benefits. The patient was very keen to have this procedure done at Emirates Hospitals Group. The patient had a successful complex intervention to left anterior descending artery and was discharged the next day. The patient has been followed up in the clinic and he is doing very well.
This shows that the complex challenging, chronic totally occluded artery, complex high risk indicated procedure (CHIP) performed and done routinely at Emirates Hospitals Group. We are happy to provide treatment for second opinions, failed procedures, surgically turndown patients, and those patients who have failed medical therapy.
