Dr. Rita A. Sakr is a French and European Board-Certified Consultant Breast Oncoplastic Surgeon and Obstetrics-Gynecologist with over 20 years of surgical, clinical, academic, and research experience. She is also an American Fellow and is widely recognized for her expertise in breast surgery, breast cancer oncoplastic surgery, minimally invasive breast surgery and women’s health.
Dr. Sakr is regarded as one of the leading Breast Surgeons in Dubai. She was awarded the prestigious “Obstetrics & Gynecology of the Year” award at the 2025 Health Awards, presented by Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan.
She earned her medical degree from Saint Joseph University in Lebanon and completed her residency in Obstetrics-Gynecology and Breast Oncoplastic Surgery at Aix-Marseille University in France. She later completed her PhD in the molecular biology of breast cancer, along with advanced breast fellowship training at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York and Institut Gustave Roussy in Paris.
With extensive training across France and the USA, Dr. Sakr has held leading consultant and academic positions in internationally renowned institutions. She also served as Associate Professor and co-Head of the Breast and Gynecology Care Unit for high-risk patients at Pierre & Marie Curie / Sorbonne University in France.
Dr. Sakr has authored more than 100 publications and abstracts in peer-reviewed journals and international conferences. She has also received several international recognitions, including awards from the American Association for Cancer Research and the San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium.
Known for her patient-centered approach, Dr. Sakr is passionate about breast cancer awareness, early detection, and survivorship advocacy, with active involvement in patient support initiatives across Europe, the USA, and the UAE.
