Dr. Riaz Asaria, BM MD FRCOphth, is an Associate Professor & Consultant Ophthalmologist & Vitreoretinal Specialist with extensive experience in retinal diseases. He graduated from Southampton University in 1989 and began his specialist training in ophthalmology in 1992, focusing on retinal disorders. Dr. Asaria was awarded the prestigious June Sutor Research Fellowship at Moorfields Eye Hospital in 1997 and completed further medical and surgical training at Moorfields and Bristol Eye Hospitals, where his research earned him a Gold Medal.

Since 2005, Dr. Asaria has served as a consultant at the Royal Free Hampstead NHS Trust, where he has developed a research team and leads ophthalmology research. He is also the lead for undergraduate ophthalmology education at UCL Medical School. Passionate about humanitarian work, he has helped establish surgical retina services in countries like Iraq.

His areas of expertise include retinal diseases, cataracts, macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease, and vein occlusions. Dr. Asaria brings his wealth of knowledge and experience to Emirates Hospital Day Surgery in Motor City, delivering exceptional care to his patients.
