Dr. Kassem El-Shunnar is a Senior Consultant Neurosurgeon with over 32 years of experience at Consultant level in the United Kingdom and the Middle East. He is British-trained and internationally recognised for his expertise in complex cranial and spinal surgery, with a particular focus on minimally invasive and navigation-guided techniques.

He provides comprehensive cranial neurosurgical care, including surgery for brain tumours, intracranial haemorrhage, and other complex intracranial pathologies. Dr. El-Shunnar has advanced expertise in endoscopic endonasal surgery for pituitary tumours and skull base lesions, offering patients state-of-the-art minimally invasive treatment options.

His spine practice encompasses the full range of degenerative, traumatic, and compressive spinal disorders, with extensive experience in microscopic and minimally invasive spine surgery across the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar regions.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. El-Shunnar is actively involved in medical education and postgraduate training. He holds the position of Adjunct Clinical Associate Professor of Neurosurgery at Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences (MBRU) and serves as an MRCS Examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons of London, reflecting his commitment to maintaining the highest standards in surgical education and assessment.
