He is British-trained and internationally recognised for his expertise in complex cranial and spinal surgery, with a particular focus on minimally invasive and navigation-guided techniques.

He provides comprehensive cranial neurosurgical care, including surgery for brain tumours, intracranial haemorrhage, and other complex intracranial pathologies. Dr. El-Shunnar has advanced expertise in endoscopic endonasal surgery for pituitary tumours and skull base lesions, offering patients state-of-the-art minimally invasive treatment options.
