Conditions such as weakness, inability to lose weight, nail and hair loss, chills may indicate vitamin D deficiency. It is of great importance for bone health. Its deficiency can cause rickets in children and osteomalacia in adults. An excess of vitamin D may cause adverse reactions in the body.
