What is Neuroendocrine Tumors (NET)?

They are rare tumors that develop in neuroendocrine system cells.

Diagnosis

It is tried to determine whether there are genetic findings of the disease by taking the personal and family history of the patient. Apart from this, tests such as fine needle biopsy, blood and urine tests, ultrasound, Magnetic Resonance, Computed Tomography, endoscopy, echocardiography, octreotide imaging, bone scintigraphy, bronchoscopy, lung function tests can be used during the diagnosis of the disease.

Treatment

Before starting the treatment of NETs, it is necessary to look at what is in the body, whether it is distributed elsewhere. Medical treatments such as chemotherapy and radiotherapy can be used to relieve symptoms and control tumor growth. It is mostly surgical practice.
