Dr Carine Azar is a Neurologist with special interest in management of headaches (migraines, cluster headaches, other), neurophysiology (nerve conduction studies, electromyography and evoked potentials), peripheral nerve disorders, multiple sclerosis, movement disorders including Parkinson’s disease and dystonia and botulinum toxin injections in Neurology.
Dr Azar graduated from Saint Joseph University in Beirut, Lebanon and conducted her specialist training in Neurology at Hotel Dieu De France in Lebanon and at Pitié Salpêtrière Hospital in Paris, the reference center for Neurologic disorders.
Dr Azar was awarded the Diploma of Specialized Medical Training from the University of Paris Diderot in France and the diploma of Clinical Neurophysiological Explorations from Sorbonne University in Paris, France and the Diploma of Botulinum toxin for movement disorders and for migraine from Clermont-Ferrand University, France.
Dr Azar has also been an eminent academician, attending and presenting posters and conferences in many congresses around the world such as the European Academy of Neurology congress in Oslo in 2019, the World Congress of Neurology in Dubai in 2019 and the JNLF (Journées de Neurologie de Langue Française) in France in 2017, 2018 and 2019 and online in 2020.
She also has publications in European and international journals and is a member of several neurology and neurophysiology societies.
Dr Azar was also throughout her studies a member of many humanitarian associations (Heartbeat, ALISEP, Epsilon)
She is fluent in Arabic, French and English.
