Dr. Barbara Dohrn completed her Medical Degree from the University of Jena, Germany where she also did her residency in Anesthesiology, Emergency Medicine, Intensive Care and Pain Medicine.

She gained her theses (MD) 1999 and received her German Board (Facharzt) of Anesthesiology in 2003. Dr. Barbara Dohrn completed additional qualifications for Emergency Medicine, Advanced Special Intensive Care and Sports medicine. She continued to work at the University Hospital and gained profound experience in clinical work as well as in scientific research. She has been an active academian with multiple publications and teaching assignments.

In 2007, she moved to Abu Dhabi to work as Consultant Anesthetist with Gulf Diagnostic Center and became Head of Anesthesia and OR Department. From 2012, she served at Harley Street Medical Center where she took charge of the new Anesthesia and OR Department and set it up. Dr. Barbara was also associated with Kings College Hospital and Health Shield Medical Center where she worked as Head of the OR and Anesthesia Departments. She gained more than 16 years of experience and knowledge in servicing and caring for the local and expatriate communities of the UAE.

Dr. Barbara Dohrn provides all types of anaesthesia for paediatric and adult patients (procedures for general surgery, plastic surgery, cosmetic procedures, gynecology, neurosurgery, urology, ENT, gastroenterology/ endoscopy, vascular surgery, orthopaedics, dental procedures, diagnostic procedures).
