Dr. Abdulsalam Al-Hakim brings over 16 years of experience as a UK-trained Consultant General Adult Psychiatrist and is now practicing at Emirates Specialty Hospital.

He achieved his undergraduate medical degree in Europe, then moved to the UK to start his rotational foundation years. Following that he joined a psychiatric training programme and has gained wide ranging experience in multiple psychiatric sub-specialities including eating disorders, neuropsychiatry, rehabilitation psychiatry, drugs and alcohol, child and adolescent psychiatry, forensic and old age psychiatry.
Following his core psychiatric training, Dr Al Hakim became an affiliate member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists in 2013 with focus on crisis and emergency psychiatry where he worked as a consultant psychiatrist in one of the busiest crisis resolutions and home treatment psychiatric team in England. In 2017 Dr Al Hakim was also awarded a diploma in Clinical Psychiatry (DCP) from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons in Ireland.
Dr Al Hakim is UK-trained, Board certified, holistic adult psychiatrist with a special interest in crisis psychiatry. He usually uses bio-psycho-social modules in understanding and treating mental illness.
